THINGS TO DO
Old Town
Sibiu is home to one of the best preserved Medieval Old Towns, with fortified walls, charming churches and picturesque views. The Old Town is buzzing in the summer months, with many international events and entertainment options.
Transylvania
Sibiu is the capital or the heart of Transylvania. Whether you're interested in nature, fortified churches and museums, traditional handcraft or authentic gastronomy, there is nothing you can't discover taking day trips while based in Sibiu.
Astra Museum
You can't miss a long stroll through nature and past times in the Astra Museum, while in Sibiu. Discover how Transylvanian people used to live in the past, enter their houses and walk through their farms. Or take a boat on the lake and hop over to the Zoo..
Wine and Dine
Romania has a lot to offer in terms of gastronomy and wine. The cuisine has influences from the many empires that have reigned or passed through the country. Did you know that Romania is the 6th biggest wine producer in Europe? No wonder Sibiu has been voted European Capital of Gastronomy in 2019.
Outdoor Activities
Whether you're into hiking, trekking, rafting, skiing, enduro biking, hunting or bird watching, Romania and especially Transylvania has it all. Come between April to September for beautiful warm weather, or from December to March for skiing and mulled wine drinking. October and November are picturesque autumn months for taking colorful shots.
Culture
Don't miss a visit at the Brukenthal Museum in the Main Square for one of the most impressive art collections in Romania, or the Pharmacy Museum in the Small Square and learn why Sibiu was the first city in Romania to have a pharmacy, back in 1494.
